After a slow start and conceding a lot of pressure for the first 5-10 minutes Spartans FC conceded two sloppy goals from set pieces in minutes of each other.

Once the game settled Spartans FC began to take control of the game and stopped Mount FC from creating any chances. As the game wore on Mount FC began to become excessively physical in an attempt to intimidate their opposition. Their opponents did not back down.

With a heavy rotation of players in this friendly Spartans FC managed to claw their way back from 2-0 down with a powerful 30 yard direct Freekick from Lawal Ibrahim.

The super sub wasn’t done there as he later delivered a great cross from another set piece which caused panic amongst the defenders and forced an own goal, drawing the teams level.

Spartans FC could have taken the lead in a complete turn around but unfortunately weren’t clinical in the final third as they continued to dominate possession but not convert opportunities.

A hard fought game where the Spartans showed spirit to get back into the game from a terrible start.
